10 personnel of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission detained in custody over investigation of some missing items involving the suspects, risk dismissal.
The arrest of security agents attached to the EFCC Lagos Zonal Command , was confirmed by the anti-graft agency on Wednesday in its continuing efforts to clean of corrupt tendencies.
The yet-to-be named personnel, according to EFCC, were arrested last week on the directives of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.
They are answering questions related to the theft of some operational items that they could not account for, EFCC said on Wednesday night.
On Monday this week, the EFCC announced the dismissed 27 officers from its workforce
for various offences bordering on fraudulent activities and misconduct in 2024.
The officers dismissal followed the recommendation of the Staff Disciplinary Committee of the EFCC, was ratified by the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.
EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale said on Monday in a statement that the measure is aimed at enforcing integrity and rid its fold of fraudulent elements in the Commission.
The officers, according to EFCC, were dismissed for various offences bordering on fraudulent activities and misconduct.
