A 30-year-old woman identified as Abigail Adebayo killed herself after suffering heartbreak and emotionally abused after the disapproval of her marriage to her fiancé by his family in in Ijebu area of Ogun State.
Abigail, who had three children with a man she cohabited with before she went into a relationship affair with her fiance, known as Abiola, allegedly ingested herself with insecticide, according to police sources.
The victim took a suicide dive after Abiola’s mother reportedly opposed the marriage and later informed her eldest son, who also disapproved it, while she subsequently slipped into depression.
Abigail’s curious neighbours at Ijebu area, uncovered the tragic incident when a stench began to emanate from her room, alerted the police in the locality and took him to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Police personnel attached to Atan Ijebu Division in the Ogun State Police Command, told Vanguard that Abigail had ingested herself with insecticide.
Preliminary investigation by the police indicate that there were no visible marks of violence on the victim’s body, which was examined at the medical facility.
