Reactions trail alleged assassination attempt on Zamfara gov’s CoS

Date:

A deadly attack ambush and reported attack on the convoy of Mouktar Lugga, the Chief of Staff to the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has sparked outrage and debate on social media.

The incident reportedly occurred on the Funtua Gusau highway, near Kucheri village at the weekend when Lugga was returning from an official engagement in Zamfara State.

According to reports, the attackers came out from both sides of the road and opened heavy f!re on the convoy, but a bullet that was fired that narrowly missed his driver on wheel, pierced the windshield of the spot Utility Vehicle, SUV.

It was also said that the attackers attempted a close-range shot, but his weapon failed to hit on target during the attack, which out the vehicle driver, under serious pressure as he managed to navigate the deadly route to safety.

Some netizens argue that the attack was orchestrated by gunmen suspected to be assassins, but others believed that was self afflicted and stage-managed to curry sympathy of Nigerians because there was not casualty in the attack.

Reacting to the photographs of the scene, shared by Oga Yenne, titled, “Close Call on the Highway… Chief of Staff escapes bandits Attack. This one is a narrow escape, Victor Ndifreke wrote: “The monsters that you train will hunt you one day”.

While Joseph Michael Udoh, described the incident as “good news if it was ordinary citizen the story would be a different narrative”.

In his part, Kaffy James said, “That’s a precise shot and can be done by a sniper or a very trained personnel, because the car is in motion”.

“A real attack would’ve been more of a sporadic firing, according to him, “No casualty recorded, not even on the side of attackers”.

Another Facebook user, Acidic Energy said, “Na warning shot go be that, e don stop to settle them”, just as Jones Jonoroadutos Obot argues that: “This funtua highway. A lot dey happen oo”.

For Ib Clement: “But the driver will come answer questions how he escape and left oga inside, while Engineer Kemzy Amadi suggests otherwise, alleged that “At that position, the bullet hit through the wind shield, driver couldn’t have escaped death except he had antidote against bullet.

“And everyone in the convoy survived without single injuries. Story for elementary pupils”, according to the user.

Also, John Emaimo also argues that, “except the driver was Van Dam or Commando or Jetli, if he was non of this people or any American or German Superman, that means there’s a lie here”.
