Oba of Benin appoints new Community heads under Ologbo Dukedom

Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin has approved the appointment of Pa. John Obasuyi and Pa. Ikpomwonsa Omorodion as the village heads (Edionwere) in both Imasabor and Oghobaye Communities — under Ologbo Dukedom in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State.

Chief Uyi Okungbowa, the Ogua of Benin, who was joined by Chief Isaac Oghafua Oyeoba, the Oyeoba of Benin, revealed Oba Ewuare’s decision to elders of the two Communities at an enlarged meeting
in Oba palace where Mr. Uhunoma Igbinigie
and Mr Omoregie Omoruyi were publicly affirmed as the Okaigheles (youth leaders) of Imasabor and Oghobaye Communities.

In obedience to Oba Ewuare’s directive, the people of Imasabor and Oghobaye Communities, rolled out their drums to celebrate the installation of their Odionwere at the weekend in Ologbo.

The second most-ranking-elder also known as Ozukpogieva in Imasabor Community, Pa. Samuel Edogun, led the Odionwere of Imasabor Community, Pa. John Obasuyi, and other elders, voluntarily subscribed to the rituals at the Ogua’edion, known as the elders Chamber.

In their interviews, the Odionwere of Imasabor, Pa. John Obasuyi and the Okaighele, Mr. Uhunoma Igbinigie, solicited for the support of elders and prayers to enable them succeed in the task ahead of them.

Shortly after the installation ceremony of Pa. Ikpomwonsa Omorodion as the Odionwere of Oghobaye who unveiled
Omoregie Omoruyi as his Okaighele, prayed God and his ancestors to guide them and avert tragedy as well as grant the natives peace and development.

On his part, Pa. Friday Tony Aghahowa, the second most-ranking-elder also known as Ozukpogieva in Oghobaye Community, promised to support the Odionwere for the overall well-being of the people and attract development to the Community.

The Okao Eguae in Ologbo and Ehor Dukedoms, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, who witnessed both installation ceremonies, thanked almighty God and Oba Ewuare for the approval of Edionwere.

Chief Iyase, expressed delight and appreciated the Oba of Benin for his fatherly disposition to justice and for restoring the ancestral rights of the Odionwere of Oghobaye Community, Pa. Ikpomwonsa Omorodion, who was deprived the privilege to be installed by the suspended Duke of Ologbo Dukedom.
