Police operatives have arrested three murder suspects linked to the alleged murder of three persons, including in-law to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.
50-year-old Odeinyefa Ogbolosingha, in-law to the Governor was allegedly murdered alongside the Paramount Ruler of the Kalaba Community, HRH Kolibo Amabelimo and Samuel Oburo in Kalaba Community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State, were killed by a gang of armed men fueling public outrage.
The Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, CP Francis Idu who said this at a Media briefing
on Monday May 5th 2025 at the Nigeria Police headquarters in Bayelsa State, alleged that 32-year-old Gideon Atama, who is amongst the criminal suspect.
CP Idu, stated that two other suspects at large are Bethlehem Nwanlia, 49 years and Clever Ovo, 33, while one of the suspects identified as Perekebi Nwanlia is deceased, according to Vanguard Newspaper.
He noted that the leader of the gang, had been declared wanted by the Nigerian Army over the alleged killing of 16 soldiers at Okuama Community in Ughelli South, Delta State sometime in 2024.
Relying on the confession of one of the suspects, Clever Ovo, who is in police custody, Commissioner Idu, stated that they were members of the notorious criminal gang of Endurance Amagbein linked to the recent attack on Tebedaba-Brass trunkline at Lakosogbene Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Council Area of Bayelsa.
