Igbinedion cancels travel over ‘Ize-Iyamu’s death’

The Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion has suspended his trip to Abuja, the nation’s Capital in honour of his bosom friend, Mr. Tony Ize-Iyamu who passed on Monday.

Mr. Tony Ize-Iyamu is a cousin to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19, 2020 governorship poll.

The decease lived on Isiuwa Street, off Reservation road in Benin City.

A domestic Staff at Ize-Iyamu’s residence, confirmed the report to our Correspondent on Tuesday, but declined to give details about the cause of his death.

“Esama is mourning. He is indeed sad over his friend’s death, Ize-Iyamu.

“They kept the news of his death from him (Esama) yesterday (Monday) night until on Tuesday morning.

“He (Esama) was supposed to travel to Abuja this morning, but, he changed his mind when he heard of his friend’s death this (Tuesday) morning”, according to him, “Tony use to jug around his compound”.
