Police authorities in Benue State have confirmed the abduction of the State commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu.

He was abducted on Sunday evening along the Otukpo-Ado road, Ado Local Government Area of the State, according to security reports.

The former Chairman of the Ado Local Government Area, was allegedly intercepted by gunmen, while returning to Ado from Otukpo
at about 9 pm.

Spokesperson of the Nigeria police Command in Benue State, SP. Catherine Anene confirmed the incident on Monday morning.

The police operatives in Otukpo have been deployed to the area, SP. Anene said.
