The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained Mela Kyari after submitting himself to the headquarters of the anti-graft Agency on Wednesday afternoon.
Kyari, former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, had been on EFCC watchlis, following an ongoing probe into the $7.2 billion refineries’ turnaround maintenance.
This followed a Federal High Court, Abuja Division, ordered a temporary freezing of four bank accounts linked to Kyari due to allegations of fraud.
Daily Post said who Kyari had been invited to answer questions on financial and technical matters during his time in office, showed up at EFCC’s headquarters in Abuja at about 2:15pm.
