A registered estate agent and Land developer Mr Osagie Wealth Efe has passionately appealed to the Benin monarch His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, to come to his rescue alongside other developers whose property worth millions of Naira were demolished by Edo State government.

Mr Osagie Wealth Efe was among hundreds of protesters who besiged the palace of Oba of Benin to solicit for his intervention and support to ease the burden of economic hardship they are going through in the hand of the State government at Obagie, Oke- Oroma Communities, in Ikpoba- Okha Local Government Area in the State.
Mr Osagie, who is married with three children and a pregnant wife, said his house was brought down, just as his four plots of lands were forcefully taken from him by the government.
The developer, who was joined by other residents in the Communities, described the action of the government as illegal, noting that the State high court had in its ruling before the demolition, restrained the government against the action.
Osagie Wealth Efe added that he has been rendered homeless without any means of livelihood.
According to him, “I have a house and four plots of land in Oke-Oroma community where I live. As we speak now the State governor has rendered me and my family homeless without a way of survival.
“My family and I are now squatting in a friend house. I have since submitted my property document to the government, without a positive response. I am appealing to the Oba of Benin to come to my aid” he stated.
Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Nehikhare had said “the land was acquired by the government in 2017 and gazetted for the new town project, but had been encroached upon by land speculators”.
He however called on affected property owners to come forward for verification and possible compensation.
