The edifice which was leased to the yet to be named Consultant, according to President of NUT, Comrade Titus Ambi, disclosed during an interview with African Independent Television, AIT on Monday September 1st 2025.

Ambi, announced the withdrawal of NUT partnership with the Consultant with immediate effect, and recalled how El-Rufai ordered the sack of thousands of government teachers in Kaduna under the guise of organising competency test for them during his tenure as Governor of the State.

“That very edifice — NUT hotel belongs to NUT anyway, but it had been leased out for management.

“So, he (Consultant) is aware that NUT is a formidable organization that can be able to build a place like this.

“Yet, he (El-Rufai) has killed the place. Under his watch, he (El-Rufai) sacked teachers on Kaduna State.

“I have directed the State wing of NUT to withdraw the partnership or leasing of that very property forthwith”, the NUT President said, the facility “will remain closed indefinitely”.

Ambi also lamented the delay in implementing the new minimum wage of N72,000 approved by the State government and hinted on steps that the national leadership of both NUT and the Nigeria Labour Congress have taken in engaging the State State government which he said has constituted a Committee on teachers Verification in the State.

TheNewspad recalls that El-Rufai had condemned the attack by suspected political thugs who invaded the ADC meeting in Kaduna State, accusing the law enforcement agents, present at the venue of complicity at the crime scene where some persons were wounded.

The former Governor of Kaduna State had expressed his disappointment over the incident which he described as “most unfortunate, warning that “if the authorities don’t take a decisive action to end this re-introduction of thuggery into Kaduna politics, well God help us, because nobody has a monopoly of violence”.
