Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare, the second, Oba of Benin, is leading Edo sons and daughters at home and abroad as well as residents of the State in a 14-day fasting and prayer session.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, said the spiritual exercise runs daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting Monday, September 14, to Sunday, September 27, 2026.
In line with the age-long tradition, the Benin monarch is also calling on God and the royal ancestors for peace, tranquility, and protection for Edo State and Nigeria ahead of the new yam festival, known as Emorhϙ in Edo language.
