Gunmen abduct High Court judge in Kebbi

A Kebbi State High Court Judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits.

 

Bunza was abducted in the early hours of Sunday at his home on Zogirma Road in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi, according to Daily Trust report.

 

The source said the attack occurred at about 12:00am on Saturday night shortly after the judge returned from a trip to Sokoto.

 

The spokesman of the Nigeria police Command, Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman confirmed the incident on Sunday.

 

He said, “I can confirm that Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza was abducted from his residence in Bunza around midnight”.

 

He revealed that Commissioner of police in the State, CP Umar Muhammad Hadejia , immediately deployed tactical and intelligence operatives to ensure his safe rescue.

 

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has been duly briefed about the incident that has sent shockwaves to many residents in the State.
