Many feared killed as Dangote cement truck crashes in Ovia river

A branded Dangote cement truck has reportedly plunged into Ovia River in Ovia North East Local Government Area, leaving an unspecified number of persons feared dead.

 

The truck, ladened with cement, plunged into Ovia River bridge on

Benin-Ore expressway, according to preliminary investigation.

 

Divers and the Federal Road Safety Corps have been deployed to the scene, just as rescue efforts for accident, have begun, amid traffic gridlock on the road.

 

Several commuters and other road users, playing the road are said or he stranded for hours.

 

A statement from the FRSC, is being awaited.
