Soldiers, Naval ratings exchange blows during Tinubu’s visit to Bayelsa

There was commotion when some personnel of that Nigerian Army and Naval ratings, abruptly stopped their operational vans and engaged themselves in a free-for-all during the visit of President Bola Tinubu visit to Bayelsa State on Friday.

 

During his visit, the President commissioned projects and inaugurated 60-megawatt gas turbine plants at Elebele in Ogbia Local Government Area of the State.

 

But a dispute over breach of protocol in Tinubu’s convoy, triggered a clash between escort duty personnel who threw caution to the wind and began to exchange blows on the road.

 

A viral video of the incident, captured helpless civilian residents watched arm bearing personnel clash after the atmosphere became tensed during the supremacy battle that has sparked reactions amongst social media users.

 

The ugly development caused traffic on the road to convulse for some minutes, while pedestrians and vehicle drivers who were caught in the melee, blare horns to continue their journey.

 

Trouble started when the driver of a van branded Naval Police suddenly stopped, jumped out, and ran to the other side of his vehicle to meet another personnel.

 

Running back to his car, a personnel ran after him and gave him a punch, sparking a fight before other security personnel intervened to stop the fight.
