How NSCDC boss slumped, died during award ceremony in Edo

Tragedy struck when the Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun
slumped and died.

He thereafter, sat at the high table during award presentation event on Thursday in Benin City.

The unfortunate occurred when Gbenga finished delivering his speech and took his last salute.

Barely five minutes after, he slumped and fell down, guests at the high table attempted to revive him by pressing his chest, while chanting ‘blood of Jesus’.

He was thereafter he was immediately taken to to the Military Base Hospital, Benin where he was confirmed dead after his pulse and allegedly went into cardiac arrest.

One of Aides to the deceased Corps, simply, expressed shock over the incident amid speculations of underlining ailment.

Management of the Corps has slated an emergency meeting for Friday, October 3rd 2025 to brainstorm on the tragedy having informed the NSCDC Authorities in Federal Capital Territory.
