EFCC chairman spotted as Tinubu interrogate Ibas over N254.37bn

The chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukayede was spotted on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa.

The EFCC boss was seen about 5:50 p.m around the period former Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibom Ete Ibas (rted), who met President Bola Tinubu.

Ibas left office on September 17, following the end of the six-month emergency rule after President Tinubu directed the suspended State governor, Sir Sim Fubara, his deputy, and the State House of Assembly members to return to office from last week Thursday.

The purpose of the private meeting, which may not be in connected with N254.37 billion Rivers State share from the Federation Account Allocation Committee between March and August 2025, under the tenure of Ibas who was clad in brown native attire during the session.

The former military Administrator who left and returned with office file in his hand, was accompanied on the visit by Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Nigeria’s Economy, Wale Edun.

Recall that after the end of emergency rule in Rivers State, Martin Amaewhule-led House of Assembly had hinted on plans to prove the tenure of Obas.

But the former Sole Administrator, rejected the decision to probe the state’s expenditure over the last few months under Ibas, amid outrage by netizens.
