There was pandemonium when armed military personnel stormed the enclave of suspected burglars and illicit drug dealers at the Sokponba road axis of Benin City in Edo State.
Sporadic gunshot by the armed personnel, heightened tension in the area that serves as shelters for criminals, stunned residents on Tuesday when some criminal suspects were apprehended.
The latest operation, followed a distressed call by a female occupant in one of the buildings near Rain petrol station on Sokponba road, alleging that the roof of her building has been removed by hoodlums, prompting the swift response by the military.
