Security chiefs, top govt officials killed in Ghana’s helicopter crash

Tragedy struck when top security Chiefs, including Ghana’s Defense Minister, his counterpart in Environment, Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed

have reportedly died in helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday August 6th 2025.

The ill-fated helicopter went missing from Accra heading for Obuasi, occurred at Adansi Akrofuom in the Adansi Akrofuom District Area of the Ashanti District, Ghana.

Ghana’s Chief of Air Staff, Julius Deborah, confirmed the helicopter crash, involves Samuel Sarpong, NDC Vice-chairman, Samuel Aboagye, former ‘NDC PC’, Peter Bafemi Anala, Manin Twum-Ampadu and Sgt. Ernest Addo Mensah — all top government officials who were killed when the helicopter caught fire when a tragic impact occurred.

One of the slain crew members in the helicopter marked, a Z9, was identified as Peter Bafemi Analu, left behind two-month-old baby and a window, as reported by Ghana web (online).
