The National Drug Law Enforcement agency, NDLEA, has lamented the influx of spies monitoring the trial of Mr Abba Kyari, the suspended deputy Commissioner of Police in courtroom.

Recall that Kyari and four other accused persons, Sunday Ubia, Bawa James, Simon Agirigba, and John Nuhu — are standing trial on an eight-count charge of drug trafficking.

Counsel to the agency, Mr Sunday Joseph raised concern that members of the inspector-general of the police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) who are loyal to Kyari an application at resumed hearing of the suit on Tuesday in Abuja.

Justice Emeka Nwite, the presiding judge to stood down the case and exited non-parties in the suit and including lawyers litigants, visitors and journalists, who are not parties in the suit, from accessing the court during the testimony of the witness.

Channels television said NDLEA lawyer said the application was to give protection to witnesses who are intelligence officers.

“We are now going into the nitty-gritty of the matter and there have been allegations that we are just witch-hunting them”, and therefore cannot fathom who is who”, the Counsel said.
