As to be expected and despite all odds, the governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Engr. Abba Yusuf Kabir has been declared the winner of the Saturday March 18, 2023 election.

ENGR. ABBA YUSUF KABIR NANU STATE GOVERNOR-ELEVT

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kabir polled 1, 019, 700 to defeat the Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir Gawuna, who got 890,705 votes.

The election had been hard fought with so many twists and turns but in the end, the National Leader of the NNPP, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso PhD FNSE once again stamped his authority on the polity of the state and the Nation.

The success of the party has however signposts the commencement of intrigues towards the 2027 general elections.

What has been the loss of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been the gains of the NNPP with Kwankwaso now becoming the new face of the opposition in the north and the country.

Kwankwaso has succeeded where his major traducers in the PDP failed woefully.

In Sokoto, some of Madudu antagonists, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal lost to the APC, while the same treatment was meted to Sule Lamido in Jigawa State.

This thus has signalled the end of the PDP in the northern part of the country thus the need for a shift in the centre of opposition in the country.

Kwankwaso would therefore be the centre of the opposition that the country needs thus it would not be out of place to say he is now the centre of opposition. Accordingly, the race for 2027 has commenced.

Congratulations to Abba Gida Gida!!
