Governor Dapo Abiodun has declared that high profile crimes including kidnapping, robbery and cultism are no longer threat to Ogun State.
Abiodun disclosed this when he received the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army Major-General Obinna Ajunwa in his office in Abeokuta, the State Capital.
He explained that the menace subsided due to the the efforts of the security agencies and strengthening of security architecture of the State.
He blamed the menace on the influx of people to the State ‘being the education Capital, religious Capital of the nation and its closeness to the neighbouring Countries’.
He pledged that his administration would continue to support various security agencies to improve on the security architecture of the State.
According to the Governor, my administration since inception has taken the issue of security serious by providing necessary logistics to the security personnel to enhance their performances.
He urged the army boss to use his vast experience in the job to strengthen security arrangement, saying this is necessary and intensify efforts towards the sustenance of peace in the State as the investment destination and industrial hub of the nation.
Earlier, Major-General Obinna Ajunwa, commended the Governor Abiodun Dapo for his support to the Nigerian army.
He said he was in the State on familiarisation tour and brief the Governor about his plans to improve on the security arrangement at his catchment areas.
