Herdsmen bomb train station, abduct passengers in Edo


Police have reported an attack by suspected armed herdsmen on train station in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.

The bloody attack left an unspecified number of passengers were whisked away while waiting to board the train to Warri, Delta State at about 4p.m on Saturday.

Spokesman of the Nigeria Police, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, said the gunshots by the hoodlums, left some persons with bullet wounds during the attack.

Nwabuzor in a statement on Saturday night, said Security personnel including local vigilante, and hunter had visited the scene of crime, with a view to protecting the lives and property of the remaining passengers.

Accordingly, bush combing operations have commenced in order to rescue the hostages and arrest the fleeing kidnappers, Nwabuzor said.
