Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu has promised to turn internet fraudsters otherwise called ‘Yahoo boys’ into tech experts if elected as President in February 25th 2023 elections.

The two-term Governor of Lagos State who spoke at APC rally held at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Sports Complex in Benin, said he has what it takes to preside over the affairs of Nigeria owing to his track records in governance

“We will turn this State to energy state. Turn the so-called yahoo boys to experts in manufacturing and creation of chips. We will bring longterm reforms.

“Sociologically , we can make mountains,  Break shackles of poverty, shackles of ignorance,  shackles of homelessness. We will do it together.

“We have the knowledge, brain.  Trust me , I am an expert in finding the way where there is no way. I found the way to tame the Atlantic ocean and turned it to a money-making machine”, he said.

Tinubu said former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was jealous of his achievements.

He urged the electorate to be wary of the antics of Obasanjo who recently endorsed Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) as his Presidential Candidate for the election.

The APC Presidential Candidate also accused Obasanjo and Abubakar Atiku, Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of corruption over the privatisation of the nation’s assets during their tenure as President and Vice President between 1999-2007.

He further recalled that as Lagos governor from 1999 to 2007, whilst Obasanjo was President, he “punished” him and millions of residents of Lagos for withholding Local Government funds that belonged to the State.

“They punished me as Lagos State governor.

“Obasanjo, instead of expansion, he seized our salaries,  local government money. What type of wickedness is that? If i take all the money you worked in 30 days, Obasanjo took the money and seized it. Do you call that person a good or a wicked man. So, if he says he endorsed somebody, is it not poison that he is giving to you.

“I brought electricity company from America and paid for all necessary fundamental things.

“When I started redesigning the revenue opportunities for Lagos, employed several youths , made them tax experts, taught them the software of oracle. From there, we blocked all the loopholes.

“They spent $16bn and they couldn’t generate electricity for popcorn. Ever since they shared the company into generation, distribution and transmission. But none of the mission was possible. It was only estimated billing that was possible.

“Can that man recommend a leader for you in Nigeria? Is that not sending an angel to pick your pocket and a blind leading the blind. I am sorry I am not insulting people with visually impairment. They will end up in a ditch.

“If I talk about Obasanjo and Obi, you will think they human beings together. One who doesn’t know the way cannot show the way. He is endorsing Obi but he doesn’t know the road. 

“With me, I will bring prosperity, hope, knowledge”, Tinubu said.

On his part, a former National Chairman of APC and two-term Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, berated Abubakar and Obi, declaring them as unfit for Governance.
