Three persons have been reported shot dead by a member of Edo State vigilante Network, temporarily bringing human and vehicular movements to a standstill.
The tragedy which occurred n Wednesday afternoon near Bob Izua shopping complex in Oredo Local Government Area of the State.
The shooting spree, caused confusion among residents who scampered for safety before some brave youths in the crowded area staged a comeback.
Witnesses alleged that the security agent was already drunk, while he was unloading his gun when the trigger suddenly went off and struck victims in front of muzzle of the gun after he returned from a drinking spot in the area.
It was leant that the victims of gunshot died as a result of the injuries while Edo State Specialist Hospital on Sapele Road in Benin City, the State Capital for medical attention.
Armed police operatives attached to Oba market Division who stormed the scene, however averted jungle justice and prevented the crisis from sliding into a free-for-all.
Consequently, the police personnel, took the local vigilante into its custody for diligent investigation, while their bodies of victims who in the pool of their own blood, were taken to a morgue for preservation.

But a female trader on Mission Road told our Correspondent that the identity of the victims of gunshot are yet to be identified.
