With the deployment of special forces to Abuja/Kaduna a train route, passengers and workers on the axis need not to panic, effect from Monday December 5, 2022.

Consequently, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the deployment of armed personnel drawn from the Police Mobile Force, K-9, Force Intelligence Bureau, Explosive Ordnance Unit and Railway Police Command.
The police boss gave the clean bill of health on Sunday in a statement through the Force Public Relations officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, ahead of the resumption of train services.
He assured that adequate police personnel, logistics have been out in place to guarantee adequate protection of lives and property especially intending passengers.
The statement partly read, “The Nigeria Police Force has been in regular talks with the Nigerian Railway Corporation and other security agencies in preparation for the commencement of operations.
“The deployment covers major railway stations along the route and operational coaches to provide adequate security for passengers, their property and the entire service in order to prevent any unforseen incidence”, Olumuyiwa said.
The federal government on March 28, 2022 announced the suspension of rail services on Abuja/Kaduna route after terrorists bombed the rail track, killed some passengers and kidnapped several persons.
Also, the government through the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) lifted the suspension after a repair work on the faulty rail tracks had been completed.
