The Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has advocated for competitions among Centres or Departments of Entrepreneurship studies in Universities in Nigeria.
She is optimistic that the initiative will promote entrepreneurship development and enhance students’ skills.
A statement from the Public Rations and Protocol Unit of the University in Edo State, said Professor Salami gave the advice when students from the University of Benin’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Development presented confectioneries, other finger foods and assorted beverages, produced by the students under the University’s Developmental Skills Course, to the Management.
Prof Salami, who praised the students for the high quality of products, was happy that the University is empowering the students while moulding their character and intellect.
The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the students to keep working hard.
Earlier, the Director of the Centre, Professor Victor Ogie-Igbineweka, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for supporting the Centre with requisite facilities and for encouraging the staff and students to excel.
