Four unidentified travellers have reportedly kidnapped at Eko-amufua village in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State.
The incident happened in Eko-amufua village barely two minutes after an expatriate supervising the construction work in the area, left the scene.
One of taxi drivers playing the route said the gunmen who shot sporadically, emerged from a nearby bush and abducted the travellers four days ago.
The mini bus driver expressed shock over the incident, lamenting that since the incident, road users are becoming scared especially at night.
“The roads here are bad. Often time, the kidnappers take advantage of road and absence of security patrol to commit crime.
“On that market day, they (kidnappers) came out from the bush and block the road and start robbing them, they were taken away.
“Four persons that were kidnapped on that day were taken though the bush path by the guys. They were all armed.
“It was not even up to two minutes after a white man supervising one of the road project entered his Hilux van and left. He might have sense danger lurking around and left”, he mini-bus driver said.
A female passenger who deals on staple food items, told our Correspondent that she travelled the axis shortly before the incident.
It however not clear if the kidnappers have demanded for ransom from families of the hostages.
Spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in Edo State, SP. Chidi Nwabizor could not be reach for comments on the incident.
