The Edo State government has invited members of the public to pay non-refundable fee of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) to obtain form for the appointment of Justice of Peace.

Oluwole Iyamu, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in a statement, called on “interested eligible members of the society to avail themselves of this opportunity”.

The statement partly read, ” pursuant to Section 12(1) Edo State Magistrate Courts Law, application forms for the appointment of Justice of Peace in Edo State are on sale.”.

Immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Benin branch, Pius Oiwoh, said the trends are in line with legal practice.

“N50,000 has been the sum to obtain the form”, he said in response to inquiry to TheNewspad.com
