FG: Delay payment of contractors frustrating new prisons projects

.

The delay in payment of contractors is delaying proposed Nigerian Custodial Centres’ projects by the federal government.

The minister disclosed this while inspecting the construction of the Kano Correctional Centre.

The government would ensure that enough funds for the completion of the project, is provided in the next year’s budget so that the facility would be completed and put to use.

He however assured speedy completion of the projects, which were initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

Aregbesola said: “I hope we will have enough provision in the budget for next year to fully complete this facility and put it to use”.
