Operatives of the Nigeria police and vigilante have neutralized three suspected kidnappers in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.

The hoodlums reportedly met their waterloo while attempting to collect undisclosed sum of money as ransom from a relative of abducted woman on Monday in the locality.
A witness said the hostage might be among an unspecified hostages plying Igueben road that were allegedly taken into hostage by gunmen.
The businesswoman (name withheld) was said to have been trailed and taken into captivity by the suspected kidnappers who thereafter opened a channel of communication for ransom.
Upon receipt of intelligence report, the Divisional Police officer at Igueben quickly mobilized police tactical team and local vigilante and laid ambush at a location, which the gang had scheduled to pick up the ransom.
The hoodlums allegedly engage security operatives in a shootout which led to their death, while the woman was rescued by security personnel unhurt.
Jubilant residents in Igueben trooped out to the Police Division in Igueben to catch a glimpse of the bodies of the suspected kidnappers.
A top police officer said the Police signal had been sent to the police headquarters in Benin City.
Checks by our Correspondent indicate that the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in Edo State, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, is yet to comment on the incident.
