Police open inquiry into 10 abandoned corpses in Edo

Police operatives have opened inquiry into 10 unidentified male corpses that were recovered on Tuesday morning from Ibillo – Lampese on the Lagos – Abuja Road in Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo State.

Residents in the locality alleged that the bodies were discovered during bush combing by a joint security patrol team including vigilante on Tuesday morning.

One of the rural dwellers, Comrade Victor Arogunyo, said the cause of death, is yet ascertain the possible cause of death.

But, he admitted that after they contacted police at Ibilo, the bodies were transferred by police personnel attached to the General Hospital Ibillo in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the State.

Spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in the State, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident, which has sent shockwaves down the spines of local residents.

He however promised to give details on police investigation in a press release that is being awaited.
