Makinde joins fans cheer Olympic Eagles to 2-0 victory against Tanzania

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde has expressed delight after cheering the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers team to a 2-0 victory against Tanzania.

This was during the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers match that was played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan this afternoon.

Makinde, joined the Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare said, “As promised, we cheered the Olympic Eagles to a 2-0 victory against Tanzania at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan this afternoon.

“Very well done to the team! We look forward to hosting more international sporting events in Ibadan”, he said.

Nigeria U-23 football team, defeated the Young Taifa Stars of Tanzania 2-0 in the second leg of the match.

The Eagles took over the game from the start of the second half, as Oguniyi Omojesu put Nigeria in front with a free-kick.

Success Makanjuola scored the second goal from a penalty kick awarded in the second half in the match, which recorded a goalless draw in the first half.
