Mourners have besieged the international headquarters of Omega Fire Ministries in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

This followed on Friday attack on the founder of the church, Apostle Johnson Suleiman’s convoy, killing seven persons including three yet-to-be identified Policemen.

A cache of combined team of armed security operatives have been deployed to the church, while bodies of the victims have been deposited in undisclosed morgue.

A family source close to one of the slain Policemen, said he was a graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, and a young, gentle and handsome Cop.

Suleiman who spoke after surviving an armed attack that occurred at Warrake, Benin Auchi Road in the State, in a video shared on Facebook, said he knew those behind the attack but won’t be mentioning them.

The Cleric escaped the attack unhurt by whiskers from his bullet proof spot Utility vehicle (SUV) but, lamented the deaths of the seven persons in his convoy, saying that he is alive, adding that most Nigerians should not draw hasty conclusion on his travails.

The fierce preacher who was caught in the web of his attackers, while returning home from a journey, said his assailants can’t kill him, adding that he is a “man of God”.

Suleiman said, “I just escaped an assassination attempt where seven people were killed. They opened fire on my car. My wife and my kids were there. The escort car with police, they killed the policemen. They killed the other people in the escort car, the bus, that were with us. They killed seven people.

“People who did this are expecting me to come out and mention their names, so they can come out and deny it but I won’t do that. The truth of the matter is, you can’t kill me, my life is in the hand of God, I’m a man of God.”

Continuing, Suleiman said, “Those who attacking me are building me, you are building on what you do not understand…You don’t know where the fight started…There are things that you do not know or understand or don’t even have any idea of the beginning of what happened in 2017. You don’t know people who are behind it, but you are doing your own thing.

“I am alive. For those who have been calling, I am well. My family is fine. I feel bad for the lives that were lost. We are mourning, but Jesus is Lord. And for all those they killed, may their souls rest in peace.

“And for the young ones who opened fire and keep wasting people, open fire on people, I assure you that the seed you sow, you will reap it”, he said.

Spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in Edo State, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the attack.

He said six persons including policemen and Suleiman’s drivers were killed, adding that efforts were on to locate the whereabouts of a domestic staff.

He also noted that one of the assailants was gunned down during the attack.
