The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its strike that paralyzed academic activities in public Universities in Nigeria.
The eight month old strike, which began on February 14, 2022, was suspended at the end of the National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

An official of the Union in the University of Benin branch, hinted that an official announcement, would be made on Friday morning.
Recall that ASUU embarked on strike over alleged failure of the federal government to implement the renegotiated 2009 agreement, request to deploy University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) to replace existing Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and other issues of concern.
