Benin monarch opens inquiry into proposed stamps by NIPOST

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, has opened inquiry into commemorative stamps proposed by the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST.

He dropped the hint in response to a request by one of the Directors in federal government Parastatal, Mrs. Irowa Salome paid a courtesy visit to his Palace in Benin City, Edo State.

Oba Ewuare said: “We will look at your request on the stamp whether to consider it on the choice of what you intend to put on the stamp”.

The gesture is in appreciation of the contributions of Benin Kingdom to NIPOST and human race over the years and curate the rich culture of Benin and tradition, according to the Management of NIPOST.
