Former national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has taunted the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in choosing its Vice Presidential Candidate for the 2023 general elections.
Recall that Presidential Candidate of the party, Abubakar Atiku dumped Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike who was his closest rival at the PDP primary elections in Abuja and picked Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State who took the wind out of the sail, trumping up fresh crisis in Nigeria’s main opposition party.
Addressing national delegates to APC national Convention in Abuja from Owan West Constituency at the weekend, Oshiomhole accused the Delta State Governor using his of betraying leaders in Southern Nigeria and PDP Governors Forum in Delta State to zone the ticket of the party to the region.
The former national Chairman of APC alleged that Nigeria’s ruling party is superior to PDP which can no longer sleep after its leaders murdered sleep.
But the two-term former Governor of Edo State which did not mention Okowa’s name, alleged that PDP leaders have sown to the wind as a party that is unreliable, therefore should reap the whirlwind.
According to Oshiomhole, “Northern delegates who make that clear commitment by saying that although we have the number, but, let the next President come from the South.
“What does that say of APC? It means that whereas PDP says one thing in the morning — They go to Asaba, Delta State in the afternoon and said the next President of Nigeria must come from the South. Before they reached Nnewi in Anambra State, an Asaba man had transferred the Presidency to the North and made himself the Vice President.
“Those who murdered truth will they sleep? Those who murdered truth will not sleep. So, APC is superior, when they talk, they deliver…We have a lot to say when campaign starts”, Oshiomhole said.
He also commended APC national delegates and other leaders of his party for supporting Candidate from the South despite their voting strength, adding that the APC Presidential Candidate for the 2023 general elections, Bola Tinubu and former governor of Lagos State will deliver good governance if elected as President Muhammadu Buhari successor.
