Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday sworn-in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.
He took oath of office at the Council Chambers in Abuja after the immediate past CJN, Tanko Muhammad resigned due to health concerns.
Justice Ariwoola was born on August 22nd 1958. He is currently the most Senior jurists in the bench until his elevation.
He hails from Oyo State, South Western Nigeria.
Recall that the former CJN, Justice Tanko, became the acting CJN since January 25, 2019 after the then CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, was suspended from office for alleged corrupt practices.
