Anambra ex-lawmaker beheaded after N15m ransom payment to Kidnappers


A former member of Anambra house of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Emeka Achukwu has been murdered by suspected assailants.

The tragedy occurred weeks after the lawmaker representing Aguata North Constituency — the State Governor, Charles Soludo, was kidnapped and beheaded by his abductors.

Achukwu who was physically challenged, was abducted at his Country home in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State by gunmen who thereafter beheaded him days after collecting the sum of N15 million from his family as a ransom.

The mutilated and decomposing body which was later recovered by relatives of politician at Ulasi river bank and was buried immediately on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, according to a family who spoke with Newsbandonline.

A press statement is being awaited from the Nigeria Police Command in Anambra State, is being awaited as at the time of filing this report. reports that the resurgence of terror in Anambra and neighbouring States have throned the bereaved family members and residents of the State into a pensive mood.
