The Catholic church authority has barred worshipers from attending Adoration Ministry in Enugu State, presided over by Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka presides over.
The fierce preacher was accused of fishing in troubled water over his recent comment on Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour party (LP) and former governor of Anambra State by calling him a ‘stingy’ man.
Bishop Calistus Onaga, Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, imposed a ban on Rev. Fr. Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry in a letter he personally signed, addressed to ‘All the Clergies, Religious and Lay Faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu’.

The church authority hinged the action on Mbaka’s doomsday teachings and utterances were not consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Bishop Onoga also enjoined “all Christian faithful to keep praying for Fr. Mbaka”, and enjoined “all Christian faithful to keep praying for Fr. Mbaka”.
Mbaka who was accused of violating the Canon laws and rebuked by Nigerians, had publicly apologized, stating that his intention was not to malign Obi’s image but to pray for him.
“In any way, the supporters of Mr. Peter Obi feel offended by my utterances or however I was misunderstood by them, I ask for their understanding and forgiveness.
He had declared that Obi could only become the president when God ceases to exist.
Earlier, the controversial Cleric said, “A stingy man, that cannot give people his money, with this hunger ravaging the land, and you are saying he is the one you want. You want to die of hunger? Are you people insane? Where is the Holy Spirit?”.
Zara Onyinye, a social media user has welcome the steps taken against the Cleric.
She wrote: “The Catholic Church has now restored its image and also shown that no one is above the church. Kudos!”.
