Abducted Lawmaker representing Soludo’s constituency beheaded


Okechukwu Okoye, Anambra State House of Assembly member representing Aguata II, has been found dead.

Okoye, who represented Aguata II Constituency — the State governor, Charles Soludo locality, was abducted on Sunday in the Isuofia area of the State.

The Nigeria police said on Saturday, revealed that Okoye’s head severed was found on Saturday at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.

The Okoye’ body was not found at the spot where his head was discovered, according to the spokesman of police Anambra State, Tochukwu Ikenga.

“His head was found along Nnobi road on Saturday. There is no suspect in custody yet,” Ikenga said.

Last Thursday, the State Governor, expressed regret over his plights in kidnappers den while presenting the 2022 revised budget to the State House of Assembly.

Soludo who had conveyed a security meeting in the State in the wake of rising attacks on some parts of the State, assured that security agencies in the State are working to ensure Okoye who is still in captivity, release.

“I regret however that one of you, the member representing the good people of Aguata II Constituency in the House of Assembly (my own representative) – Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, is still in the custody of the kidnappers.

“The security agencies are working very hard and around the clock to secure his freedom. God is on the throne and Anambra will win. Let me leave it at that”, he said.
