Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has expressed regret over the alleged abduction of the member representing Aguata II Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye.
Okoye who represents Aguata II Constituency, the Country home of the Governor, was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday in the Isuofia area of the State.
Speaking during the presentation of the 2022 revised budget to the State House of Assembly on Thursday in Awka, the Governor assured that security agencies in the State are working to ensure Okoye who is still in captivity, release.
“I regret however that one of you, the member representing the good people of Aguata II Constituency in the House of Assembly (my own representative) – Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, is still in the custody of the kidnappers.
“The security agencies are working very hard and around the clock to secure his freedom. God is on the throne and Anambra will win. Let me leave it at that”, Soludo assured.
TheNewspad had recalls that the Governor recently conveyed a security meeting in the State in the wake of rising attacks on some parts of the State.
