The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has died at the age of 83.

The monarch who reigned for 52 years, passed at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti State.

The prominent Yoruba monarch died late Friday, according to palace sources.

His remains have reportedly been moved to Oyo town ahead of his burial rites.

Recall that Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadan, died on January 2, 2022.
