Evbuobanosa dukedom in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State has been slashed by the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II.

The territory (Abudu and Evbuobanosa) use to be under the control of Professor Gregory Akenzua, Oba Ewuare II Uncle and the Enogie (Duke) of Evbuobanosa on behalf of the monarch.

Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC), Frank Irabor on Friday in a Press statement said Benin monarch has appointed an Odionwere (traditional head) in Abudu, headquarters of the Local Government Area.

Irabor said, ‘henceforth, Abudu Village now seizes to be under the traditional administration of the Enogie of Evbuobanosa’.

He said the traditional head of Abudu Village whose name was not disclosed in the statement, ‘will be reporting directly to the Palace of the Oba of Benin’.

He also urged Orhionmwon Local Government Council and the general public to take of the new develpment.

Recall that Prof. Gregory Akenzua succeeded late Justice David Akenzua who superintended over Abudu Village and Evbuobanosa dukedom several years ago during the reign of Oba Erediauwa.
