PDP relies on courts to win election instead of ballot ― Omo-Agege

.

The deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of relying on courts to win election instead of the ballot.

His comment was in response to recent sack of two federal High courts had in a separate judgements sacked Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, the deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, and 20 Lawmakers in Cross River State for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Omo-Agege made the allegation while fielding questions from newsmen at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national Convention on Saturday in Abuja.

The deputy Senate President said the development has made the party to be more circumspect against the intrigues of Nigeria’s main opposition party, ahead of 2023 general elections.

According to him, “We are very careful not to make mistakes. It has become crystal clear that the PDP cannot win election in Nigeria.

“The only way they (PDP) now win election now is through the courts. And we are now determined to prevent them from doing that.

“We are happy that our Convention is holding. We were not under any illusion that the Convention will not hold”, he said.
