A security guard has been short dead by gunmen while patrolling around the runway at the Kaduna International Airport, Kaduna State.

Shehu Na’Allah, the victim, is a staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), was allegedly killed while on patrol at the airport.

Mrs Amina Salami, the manager of the airport said this to newsmen on Saturday.

She revealed that the bandits were however repelled by armed security operatives who arrived the scene, preventing the hoodlums from gaining access to the main airport complex.

The tragedy, caused panic among air travellers and workers led to the delayed Lagos-bound bound flight from taking off from the Kaduna airport.

Besides, the Federal Airport Authorities of Nigeria (FAAN) have deployed additional military personnel to the facility.
