The embattled governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has lampooned his River State counterpart, Nyesom Wike for alleging that he contributed to his travail in court, which he said on Wednesday doesn’t bother him.

Recall that Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had ordered him and his deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, to vacate their offices for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Umahi spoke after he and other Governors elected on the platform of APC met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa over the national Convention of the ruling party on March 26.

Umahi, likened Wike who had made a scathing remarks about him while com missing a road project in his State over the defection by the later from PDP to APC, to biblical Judas Iscariot over the recent turn of events surrounding his defection which he said was “a blessing in disguise”.

“I am not worried about the high court judgment. The constitution says I can’t be sued while in office. I have immunity from any prosecution.

“The Supreme Court has also said, votes obtained from elections are for the candidates and not the political party”, Umahi said.

He stressed that despite his accomplishments in life, he is not boastful like his counterpart who he also challenged to a debate.

Governor Umahi also said there is no basis for comparison between him and his counterpart (Wike), adding that he (Umahi) “became a billionaire at the age of 25. I’ve worked all my life and I have asked him to come for public debates”.

According to him, “So, if he says he has done well and he is Mr this or that, let him come for public debate with me. Let’s start with our childhoods. So I’m not disturbed”.

Continuing, the Governor who further made clarifications on the ongoing legal tussle over his defection, wondered why “a mere man that depends on the breath of God. I pity illiteracy. It’s a shame. You are boosting to remove another Governor.

“What qualifies you just because you’re packing money that is public fund? Not intellectual material but by just packing money from public funds and you are boasting about it. Otherwise, who were you?”, he queried.
