A Nigerian-based retired Colonel in the United State of America Army, Wisdom Osagiede has declared his intention to contest for 2023 Nigeria presidential election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant made his intention known without the presence of the state’s party executive on Thursday in Benin City, Edo State Capital.

Addressing Journalists, he said he decided to join the race based on his love for Nigeria and desire to transform the nation’s economy to be among the world best economy.

Recalling his background in the American military, Osagiede, vowed to out an end to Boko Haram insurgency in the North Eastern part of the Country within one year if elected president.

He prioritise security, health, education, employment job creation among others if elected, adding that 80 percent of appointments in his administration would be for the youths

“My administration will not tolerate nepotism and favoritism. Every
appointment will be based on merit. I will encourage patriotism
from elementary school to the university level so that Nigerians can have Nigeria at heart”.

The US trained Chemical Defense and Psychological military Officer said the solution to end the insurgency and banditry in the Country lies in his hands following his 30 years of military background.

“For 30 years, I amassed wealth of experience in administration and leadership within the US military, the world’s most enviable and strongest military”.

“With my experience, I know what a military should look like. The Nigerian army and other security agencies are getting set for a modern era and I have the password to this”, he said.

Osagiede, who holds a dual Citizenship of American and Nigeria, said, “America will gladly contribute economically, socially and otherwise to this new phase of Nigerian development we are about to engage”.
