Nigerians in the social media Community have frowned at the alleged shooting during a clash between personnel of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and suspected thugs.
Recall that some operatives of the agency, raided a den of drug traffickers on Patey Street at the Lagos Island in the early hours of Saturday.
But the spokesman of the agency, Mr. Babafemi Femi in a Facebook post on Saturday, urged the members public to disregard the disturbing viral video of shooting in the public while trying to enforce arrest of a suspected drug kingpin and five others.
The NDLEA spokesman dismissed the ‘fake narratives’ in the sewage of social media space, but admitted that some NDLEA personnel were attacked during the raid while almost 6,000kg of drugs were seized by the agency.
According to him, “A lot of fake narratives have been going on on what happened at Petty area of Lagos Island earlier today. Please disregard them.
“Truth is our operatives went for the arrest of a major drug kingpin and we got her and 5 others with almost 6,000kg of drugs despite attacks on our men”, Babafemi said.
