The federal Fire Service says it responded to 77 distressed calls across Edo State within the past three months.

Head, Prevention Federal Fire Service, Edo State Command, DSP, Iyimbor Paul made the remark while speaking on Independent television radio programme monitored in Benin”.
He tasked the State government, Local Government and Corporate Organizations operating in the State to procure additional fire trucks towards mitigating fire disasters in distant locations outside Benin.

“We currently have two fire trucks in Edo State, which is not enough especially when there is a fire outbreak in distant locations…Fire does not give notice.
“Since our presence in Edo, Abuja and 35 other States in Nigeria, we have never had it so good. We are giving kudos to President Muhammadu Buhari for his intervention in the Service. Before he came, the Service did not have enough vehicles”, Iyimbor said.
