We didn’t kidnap our ‘sick daughter’, FGGC parents slam critics

Mr. Bello Monday Osayomwanbor, a parent at the Federal Government Girls College, Benin has denied any criminal intent against the Management of the school.

He revealed that he took his ‘sick daughter’ from the school for home care and denied sneaking into the school to take his daughter away without the school management’s approval.

Osayomwanbor, husband to the Chairman of the Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA) of Federal Government Girls College, Benin disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Benin in response to a misleading online report that he acted in bad faith.

He explained that he couldn’t have sneaked into the school when there is no restriction order by the school’s Management to warrant the any alarm by some attention seeking individuals who are determined to derail the ongoing new hostel project being undertaken by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) executives of FGGC, Benin.

He alleged that those behind the narratives want to blackmail him and his family in order to suppress a legitimate course against anti-corruption.

Speaking further, Bello said “I only went to the school to take my daughter Anita Osa Bello (SS1) home.

“My daughter called to inform us that the first aid treatment on her injury by the school did not improve her health, that the injury she sustained hurts her harder.

“Immediately, I moved to the school to take her home for better care. On reaching the school, I reported at the vice principal, students Affairs’ office who immediately signed the ‘exit card’ of my Child. I thereafter appealed to a female Staff who is also the PTA Clerk of the school to help me bring my daughter from the girls’ hostel and she obliged.

“I didn’t want to join issues with them because I had already smelt the rat, I started appealing to them to pardon whatever wrong, I begged to let me take my Child home. In the process, one young man called Joseph was recording all that happened and I began to wonder over what was happening and asked questions on why he was recording, he replied to say that he was acting on the principal’s instruction and that it was part of their practice. My interest was to have my child with me”.

Continuing, If I did not follow due process, how come the students affairs department now issued us the ‘exit card?’ I went into the school through the main gate and my daughter and I also left through same game.

“Why the video showing my discussion in the process of getting my daughter with the school officials is published is what I don’t understand. I didn’t go into the hostel to get her by myself. They did.

Also reacting against the online publication, Mrs Bello, Chairman, PTA, called on the Nigeria police to carryout a thorough investigation into the allegation and prosecute the offenders.

She described the allegation as false being sponsored by some members of the Association who wanted her removed as PTA Chairman at all costs.

She also explained that her husband Bello does not have anything to do with the building materials the PTA procured for their building (Hostel) project, but insist on due process in the execution of the building project.

According to her, “The executives chose direct labour option which didn’t go down well with some persons. “All the materials we are using are well kept.

“I want the police to investigate this matter. I thought it was a minor strife within the Association but it is clear now that some persons are after me.” She explained.
